I’ve edited eight chapters today.

That sounds heroic, but it’s just a first pass – cleaning up some bad England, the odd narrative inconsistency I see. What I’m really going to need, I suspect, is a couple of good friends who can read this over and say what they like and don’t like.
The trick? I’m not sure I can think of a faster way to lose friends.
Editing’s surprisingly slow going, especially on some content that’s really old. I’m trying to remember what was going on when I wrote it, and cringing at some of the particularly bad writing and style. I hadn’t really found my feet at the start (…at least, not like I think I got to towards the end).
I think I’ll need to finish this first pass and then find those friends though – I can’t tell what’s good and what’s not, and I suspect – even after only 8 chapters – I’m starting to second guess myself.
See you on Monday.
