The End Is Nigh

I go back to an actual day job next week.

Busted Seat by schmood.

This doesn’t fill me with great joy – although it’s fair to say, I’ve had an absolute blast writing Night’s Favour.  I’ll talk a bit more about that later in the week though – this post is more about this week.

To whit: I’m packed to the gills with engagements and administrivia this week.  It’s fortunate that I finished the edits yesterday; I’ve got to arrange to get the next manuscript out to Wave 2 of the beta readers over the next couple days.  Today though, I’m having a break: I finished everything I wanted to achieve on my sabbatical, and that calls for a celebration of spending the day on the couch in my underwear.

…or whatever a day off means to you.  To each, their own.  In all seriousness though, I’m having the day off.  I’ve started trying to get back into the regime of a working week – morning workouts, actually shaving daily, that kind of thing.  I’m exhausted – all this getting up when it’s dark takes it out of a guy.

As a celebration for going back to work, I got myself some new kettlebells.  These are a Russian torture device that I use for exercising.  It’s doubly fortunate that I finished the edits yesterday because I can’t use my arms anymore anyway.
